QuickBooks hosting is a concept in which the accounting software is hosted by a third party vendor and the user through an internet connection. This concept has brought some tremendous features on the table. These features include:
The hosted QuickBooks give these additional facilities along with all the features available in the desktop version. These features make the experience of accounting much more enriching and efficient.
But this is not the complete picture. There are some issues with hosted QuickBooks.
First and the foremost is the Security. One cannot give all of one’s critical data to a third party vendor and be completely assured that it is safe. This insecurity, can spell doom for the accountant and the firms that are using it.
Firms putting their data on cloud doesn’t know about the encryption done at the backend and any mistakes in encryption can lead to leaking of the data.
Data security is provided by most of the hosts but can sometimes be a painstaking task. Make sure that the recovery options are well in place.
Due diligence of the vendor is of high priority when using a hosted version of your favorite accounting software. The idea of putting the software on cloud is amazing as it gives the user some features that have never been used before but it does come with a risk factor that should be observed.
